We built FamilyRapport because we believe family connection shouldn’t require surveillance. This policy explains honestly what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
FamilyRapport is an emotional companionship and family connection service for aging adults and the families who care for them. We are not a medical provider, psychological service, or licensed healthcare organization. Our service connects adult children (“Members”) with trained Heritage Curators who correspond with their aging parents (“Participants”) and deliver monthly Insight Reports on their parent’s emotional state and wellbeing.
For questions about this policy:
From Members (adult children who subscribe):
From Participants (your aging parent):
How Participant consent works: Participants (your parent) are informed about the nature of the service in the first letter from their Heritage Curator. This letter explains that the correspondence is part of a companionship program arranged by a family member, and that general observations from their letters may be shared with that family member in summary form. Continued correspondence constitutes acceptance of these terms.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models for third parties.
In certain U.S. states, individuals who have assumed responsibility for the care or welfare of an elderly person may be classified as “mandatory reporters.” If our curators become aware of potential elder abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation through correspondence, we may be legally required to report this to Adult Protective Services (APS).
We will make reasonable efforts to notify the subscribing Member before any such report is made, except where doing so would endanger the Participant or conflict with legal requirements.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of any sale of your data (we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, email .
Written correspondence between Participants and Heritage Curators is reviewed by our team for quality assurance and to prepare monthly Insight Reports. Participants are informed of this in the first letter they receive from their Heritage Curator, before any analysis takes place.
We use cookies to make our site work and to understand how it is used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage or cookies, which will cause the consent banner to reappear on your next visit.
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to correspondence and reports is restricted to authorized curators and staff. We conduct regular security reviews and limit data access on a need-to-know basis.
We may update this policy as our service evolves. We will notify active Members by email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
